If anything can be made to be fast then why aren't there more Z's in the 9's in the 1/4 mile? Why aren't more Z's used for racing? There is nothing wrong with that the Z is a hwy cruiser not a track bruiser. The additional weight that it carries in the frame can not be removed. The 4 wheel steering makes it feel clumsy and unstable. The reason that the GT-R didn't impress you was because it isn't about having so much power that you cannot put it to the ground it is about having good usable power. That is where the Skyline shines and guess what, that doesn't go away with more power either. We are talking about tun-ability too. I plan on tuning mine when I get it. I tuned my Z when I had it: [ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=1480221 ] I also tuned my EVO when I had it: [ http://registry.evolutionm.net/viewride.php?vid=4461 ] The Z was just a let down at the strip and on the track. Even with the suspension completely done with sway bars F/B, Strut bars F/B, Tow hook bar, coil overs and a lot more. I had GT-R Brembos F/B, steel braided brake lines, and more. My point is that I loved my Z it just wouldn't ever perform up to the sum of the parts that I put into it. The only place that she shined was on Hwy roll ons and after a few tickets those were far from appealing to me. Now the EVO on the other hand rewarded me for every dollar spent and it was a great car for performance, but it lacked in the comfort zone and the sex appeal that the Z to me had. So IMO the GT-R gives me the best of both worlds. Plus the cost of ownership on the Z rivaled that of a new car payment due to the little obnoxious stuff that would need replaced all the fing time, not to mention the parts and tuning fees. Thank goodness I am mechanically inclined and could install most of the items myself. But to each there own, I was there, noone could tell me that anything was better than the Z. But I will tell you that life does exist after the Z. I do however miss the ignorant bliss that I once had. It was a blind faith that made me make excuses for the Z's short comings. I would not take away the time that I spent with the Z though, it was a great intro into the fast car world and after piloting that heavy bastard around numerous tracks I can drive anything.
